National Honor Society (NHS) meets the first Tuesday of each month in Room 503 at Lunch.
 
Information sheets are available for new members in September for fall applicants and in February for spring applicants.
 
Requirements for Admission
  • 3.2 GPA unweighted
  • 20 hours community service completed
  • 1 semester of leadership during high school
  • Teacher character reference
  • Students may not have U's or multiple N's on their transcripts; no truancies and no disciplinary record for academic dishonesty
  • All students and their parents/guardians must sign our Code of Conduct and adhere to it.
Continuing Members
To remain in the organization students must sign and adhere to the NHS Code of Conduct, must remain in good academic standing and must complete 10 hours of community service on campus for Rancho Alamitos High School, including two hours per semester tutoring in the Learning Center, and a total of 20 hours of community service for the year.
 
All seniors in good standing are recognized with a graduation stole and special designation in the Graduation Program at the end of the year. Students will also have an NHS seal on their diplomas.
