Warm-up: Ask students to share verbally with a partner their notes about the author and to add more information to their notes. (5 minutes). Collect it.
Agenda: Reading
- Read, Borges y yo aloud to the students or have various students read it aloud. (students have a photocopy but it is in their book page 352)
- Ask students to work wih a partner and to read together once more and annotate the text. They have a photocopy but if they don’t have it for any reason have them open their Temas book to page 352. Tell the students to read with a partner and
- Discuss ideas, vocabulary, phrases and to annotate the text. Also they need to prepare a list of new vocabulary words. They can use their cell phones to look up words. Ask them to prepare for a class presentation.
- To visualize what they are reading and to write two lists, one with the characteristics of the private Borges and another with the public Borges. They need to compare both lists to decide who is most human from the two Borges. They need to explain their observations in a short composition. (this might take a while) They need to read many times in order to comprehend.the personality of each “Borges” from his likes, dislikes, actions, etc.
