A little about me...

I graduated from CSU, Long Beach in 2003 where I received a Bachelors of Arts in English Education with an emphasis in literature. I minored in music where I participated in the 49er choir as an alto and I have also played the clarinet since I was in fourth grade. I played in the Santa Ana Winds Youth band until 2008.  I continued my education at Chapman University where I received my Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration in June of 2007. I started my teaching career at Lakewood High School in Long Beach Unified where I taught 10th and 11th grade English. After a year of a long commute, I moved to Rancho Alamitos High School for the 2005-06 school year and I plan to retire here. I currently teach AP Literature and Composition and English 3P.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling around the world with my husband, which I married the summer of 2015!!! I like to try new things such as zip lining in Big Bear, swimming in the ocean with sea turtles, snorkeling in the Caribbean, swimming in underwater caves in Mexico, hiking in Alaska, diving into a beautiful turquoise water in Bora-Bora, and enjoying music under a beautiful night sky at the Hollywood Bowl or listening to a beautiful opera in LA.  This summer we took our kids on multiple trips.  Started off the summer with a trip to Las Vegas with the family, which helped us prep for our Bahamas trip.  We enjoyed beautiful turquoise waters and white sandy beaches in Nassau, Grand Turk, and Barbados.  My son will start 2nd grade this school year and my daughter will start preschool. The kids keep us super busy with their activities, but we love to see them enjoy these activities. My son enjoys playing the piano and soccer, and my daughter enjoys swimming and gymnastics.  I enjoy spending time with my little family and friends, I love them and I treasure every minute I have with them.   Whenever I do have some time for myself I like to swim, read, and run!
